I had a great experience taking this barista course.
Although I had previous experience working at a café in Japan, I learned a lot because the espresso machines and grinders here are different.
Trainer Fi explained everything clearly and taught me step by step, which was very helpful.
I also enjoyed learning latte art. It was challenging but fun.
Thank you very much!
I registered for a private 1–1 barista class with Fi after reading the story of Sipping Duck. Their journey really inspired me – from starting with old equipment to building a small coffee shop into what it is today. It made me feel motivated to learn more about coffee and the people behind it.
The class with Fi was a really great experience. She is a knowledgeable and patient teacher who can guide you step by step. It’s not just about grinding coffee and steaming milk – she also explained the basics of coffee, how to understand different beans, and how to make better coffee with simple techniques.
What I appreciated the most was learning the small details, like how to properly clean the machine and take care of the equipment. These are things that not every class would teach, but they are very important if you want to work in a real café environment.
Overall, it was a meaningful and inspiring session for me. Thank you, Fi, for sharing your knowledge and passion. I really enjoyed the class and would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to learn barista skills.
Bella from Vietnam
We have had our Breville machine and grinder for nearly four years, and thought that we were making pretty decent coffee - how wrong we were! Step by step, this course not only taught us to set the machine up properly for the beans we use, but how to troubleshoot issues, and how to alter those settings if we use different beans/as the beans age. Similarly, teaching us to do milk properly has made a huge difference....although, much more practice is needed to perfect that late art!!
Finally, the team will take you through regular maintenance requirements for your machine.
This course is an absolute must for any home barista- thoroughly recommended!!
I have had my machine for 10 years and believed I was able to make a good coffee but this course taught me so much more. I recommend it to anyone who has a machine at home, you'll be amazed how much better your coffees will become. Thank you Rachel and Fi for your expert tuition, patience and good humour. Thoroughly enjoyed the course.
I photo of my last latte would be the best feedback !
Buying a coffee is something I just can’t do right now, mine are just so good after the 1-1 training I’ve had at sipping duck.
