We were given 250g of “Queensland “ beans with our recent purchase of usual Facekicker., to try and review. As an espresso, I was pleasantly surprised: light bodied, clean, bright and medium sweet. Flavours of red berries, raw cocoa. I always wished we had more locally grown coffee to support, and though I prefer a richer/full bodied style , I would keep trying this out. I’d be keen to come in store and try how they use it, too.

Hi Omar, thank you for the feedback and the review. Locally grown coffee is something that is definitely spiking some interest in our customers, and we are aware that at the moment it sits a bit far from our style and specially from Face Kicker. We are working with the farm to close the gap, and although it may take a good 6 months, it is something we are definitely going to continue experimenting with. We are yet to try a dark roast made with local beans 😉

Locally grown, Mareeba coffee is a product we are developing with the farm, trying to bring it as close as possible to match the quality and style of our high altitude beans grown all over the world at 3 times+ the altitude. We have given samples to customer over the month of November to gather feedback and see if our customers want us to stock it. Stay tuned for future announcements 😉

As I have stated in the title of this review I now have a hard decision to make.
My go to bean is normally the organic which we always get as it is such a well balanced and smooth blend. As my wife and I both only drink Black coffee without sweetners the quality of the roast and blend is very important to us. But now after trying two other blends in our last order namely the Peru Organic and Indika which both offer individual flavour profiles that are both consistent with the quality of what we expect from Sipping Duck Coffee roasters and have a difference about them that sets them apart from each other. I feel that I am just have to get all three again and take notes this time.

Hi Steve, thanks for the review! We have our style and work hard to stay true to it while offering different blends and profiles. Peru and Indika are now out of stock, we loved it too! But we will bring new seasonal blends and single origins that will be just as good. Some of our long black drinkers love Flight Mode too! Stay tuned for our next seasonal 😉
